Michael Bonnet MSEd CAP
Michael Bonnet is a primary therapist at Beachside Rehab. He has an eclectic counseling style and relies on a wide range of interventions to suit each individual client, including evidence-based mindfulness interventions, mindfulness-based trauma interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), 12-step recovery, Refuge Recovery, and SMART recovery.
“I use an authentic, client-centered approach and my extensive clinical and personal experience to help clients and families understand and recover from addiction and mental health disorders,” says Michael. “I believe that every client can recover and begin a journey toward self-actualization through a holistic approach to wellness which addresses body, mind, and spirit.”
Michael earned his master’s degree in counseling education and gained valuable mental health experience and a diverse skill set working as a crisis intervention counselor, clinical coordinator, and employee assistance program care manager. He began practicing as a substance use disorder counselor in 2007 and has been a primary therapist, supervisor, and program director. He is a Florida Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and a Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP).
