Outpatient Programs
Addiction and mental health problems are as unique as the people who battle them. Treating mental health issues and substance abuse is complicated because what works for some may not work for others. In light of that, there are a variety of options for unique and individualized care. One of these options is outpatient rehab.
Outpatient care can include various levels of support, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for those who need structured, daily treatment without overnight stays, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for those who require high levels of care while balancing work or family responsibilities.
Outpatient treatment can be used immediately after inpatient treatment, or on its own. There are many benefits to this treatment, especially when you consider a luxury outpatient program.
What is Outpatient Treatment?
If you or a loved one are seeking help for addiction or a mental health issue, please call us today: 866-349-1770. Ask us about what level of outpatient care—PHP IOP, or standard outpatient—may be best for you.
Is Outpatient Treatment Right for You?
Compare mental health and addiction recovery to the education process: Some people learn best from books, while others need hands-on experience. There is no right or wrong way to learn; we are all different. In the same way, while some benefit from the constant attention and monitored lifestyle of inpatient treatment, others can keep up with treatment through outpatient rehab while retaining most of their regular daily routines.
At Beachside, we offer different outpatient levels: PHP for those needing daily support, IOP for flexible but intensive care, and standard outpatient for those in later stages of recovery.
What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured, flexible form of treatment designed for those who need a higher level of care than standard outpatient therapy, but do not require the round-the-clock supervision of a partial hospitalization program (PHP). IOPs play a critical role in the continuation of care for mental health and substance use disorders, bridging the gap between intensive treatment and independent living.
At Beachside Rehab, our IOP typically involves 3 to 5 days of treatment per week, with clients attending sessions for 3 to 4 hours per day. This level of care is ideal for those who are transitioning our of inpatient or PHP programs, or for those just beginning treatment who need structured support while continuing to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
At Beachside, our IOP services include:
- Individual therapy, personalized to your goals and support needs
- Group therapy sessions focused on relapse prevention, coping skills, emotional regulation, and practical coping strategies
- Family counseling and education to support healing at home and improve communication
- Holistic and wellness therapies such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, to promote physical and emotional balance
Unlike PHP, which often involves all-day programming and daily medical or psychiatric supervision, IOP allows for greater flexibility while still an extensive therapeutic routine. Compared to standard outpatient care, our IOP offers more frequent contact with clinicians, resulting in a deeper and more effective therapeutic process. Whether used as a step-down from inpatient or PHP care, or as an entry point of care for those who are ready to engage in focused support, IOP supports long-term recovery by reinforcing coping skills, building resilience, and fostering community—all while managing everyday responsibilities.
If you’re unsure whether IOP is the right fit, our admissions team can help guide you: 866-349-1770.
Who is the Ideal Client for IOP Treatment?
Outpatient treatment may be best for those who:
- Require a structured therapy and treatment program, but are stable enough to live at home and manage daily responsibilities
- Are stepping down from PHP or inpatient treatment and still require structured support to maintain progress during early recovery
- Are unable to take extended time away from work, school, or caregiving duties, but are still in need of a focused treatment plan
- Prefer a discreet and flexible method of treatment that allows them to maintain privacy while seeking professional help
- Have a supportive home environment and are able to safely mage triggers and avoid high-risk situations outside of treatment
- Do not require 24/7 monitoring for withdrawal management or mental health crises, but still benefit from regular clinical contact and support
These are all good reasons to enter outpatient rehab. However, while some people can get help without disrupting their lives, it’s important to take a critical look at yourself before deciding what type of rehab is best. Contact us today to learn more about our treatment plans.
What is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a highly structured, comprehensive form of outpatient treatment that provides intensive support without requiring an overnight stay. PHP is ideal for those who need daily therapeutic and psychiatric support, alongside significant medical monitoring during the day, but are stable enough to return home or to sober living in the evenings.
At Beachside Rehab, our PHP typically involves attending six or more hours of treatment per day, five to seven days a week. This immersive schedule provides the consistency and depth needed to address the symptoms of addiction or mental health conditions, while still allowing clients to begin reintegrating back into everyday life.
The core elements of PHP include:
- Individual counseling to explore personal challenges and develop specific recovery goals
- Group therapy focused on peer support, relapse prevention, coping strategies, and emotional regulation
- Family therapy and education to repair relationships and strengthen support systems
- Medication management monitored by licensed professionals to ensure safe and effective care
- Holistic and wellness activities, such as yoga, meditation, or nutrition counseling, to support healing of the mind, body, and spirit
PHP serves as a step down from inpatient treatment or as an alternative to inpatient care for those who need daily structure but not 24/7 supervision. It’s often the first level of care after detox or hospitalization, helping to stabilize clients before transitioning to IOP or standard outpatient treatment.
By offering intensive daytime support with flexibility in the evenings, PHP helps to bridge the gap between crisis and long-term recovery to empower you to build structure, develop healthy routines, and continue to progress on the path to recovery.

Our Florida Outpatient Program Can Provide Numerous Benefits
In addition, luxury outpatient treatment is often less expensive than inpatient treatment because you won’t be paying for room and board at the facility. And with regular meetings and a support system of therapists, mentors, and peers, outpatient services may be just as effective as inpatient services. Plus, outpatient treatment works more extensively to prepare you for life outside of rehab. By practicing self-care and sobriety in the real world, you will gain experience in handling triggers and removing yourself from harmful situations or environments.
What are the Challenges of an Intensive Outpatient Program?
Outpatient treatment is not ideal for clients who have yet to detox, or who need help with detoxing. In these situations, an inpatient program with 24-hour medical care is preferred.
With outpatient treatment, much of the onus is placed on clients; things like drug testing or regular check-ins with a therapist are often required. Outpatient clients are held completely accountable for their actions. So, a patient who is unable to cope with the pressure may not be the best candidate for outpatient treatment.
What is Aftercare?
Aftercare is a vital part of luxury outpatient treatment because it reinforces the themes and therapy of inpatient rehab, providing the tools you need to live a healthy and sober life beyond rehab.
How is Beachside’s IOP Program Different?
As our clients progress in their recovery, they can seamlessly transition between levels of care based on their needs. Many begin in our PHP and step down to our IOP, eventually moving into standard outpatient therapy as they gain stability and independence. Our gradual approach supports long-term success and ensures that our clients receive the right amount of structure and support at every stage of recovery.

Outpatient Programs
Many individuals seeking help with drug and alcohol addiction or mental health issues enjoy the benefits and advantages of an outpatient program. Whether you’re transitioning from an inpatient program or you’re looking for stand-alone outpatient treatment, our facilities are always available. In fact, outpatient clients are always invited to group sessions at our Hutchinson Island facility. Situated on the beautiful Atlantic Coast of Florida, our luxury outpatient rehab facility is calming and relaxing—the perfect place to start fresh and commit to a clean, healthy lifestyle.
Our holistic method of treatment allows clients to identify and avoid triggers in their daily lives that could be detrimental to their mental health and sobriety. Like inpatient clients, outpatient clients are assigned their own private therapist who handles their care. Our PHP clients typically engage in structured, day-long programming five to seven days a week, while IOP clients have the flexibility of evening or daytime sessions that fit their lifestyle. Outpatient clients have the option to attend between 1 and 9 hours of group therapy each week.
Unlike inpatient therapy, which usually lasts between 30 and 90 days, outpatient therapy has no time limit. Clients are welcome to join group sessions for as long as they need to get results.
By not placing a time limit on luxury outpatient treatment, we can support our clients and help them deal with any stressors of outpatient recovery.

The Role of Family in Luxury Outpatient Rehab Treatment
What about 12-Step Programs and Support Groups?
- Give and Receive Support:In a group of peers with similar experiences, clients feel supported and understood. Since addiction and substance abuse often isolate individuals from their friends and families, the support of like-minded people can help clients feel accepted. It’s also comforting to know that others are going through a similar situation.
- Experience No Judgment:One of the biggest benefits of these programs is the fact that there is no judgment. For many individuals, sharing personal thoughts and feelings can seem daunting, and the fear of being judged or ridiculed can be a major roadblock. Twelve-step programs advocate for complete acceptance, creating a safe space for individuals to share.
- Create Lasting Friendships:The friends that are made in luxury outpatient treatment and 12-step programs become friends for life. Creating bonds with others and supporting peers outside of therapy sessions is a major key to preventing relapse.
- Learn New Techniques:If you have a tough problem to solve, it’s helpful to get another perspective. When someone can see your problem from their own point of view, they can offer helpful tips and tricks to solve the problem more easily. It’s the same with support groups and 12-step programs. You may learn a new coping method from someone else in the group, or you may be able to offer your own advice on what works for you.
- Reinforce Sobriety and Prevent Relapse:During recovery, there may be times when using substances again seems like a good idea. But in a 12-step group, you may see someone who has relapsed, reminding you of the consequences of using and helping you avoid that path.
- Gain Confidence that Recovery Is Possible:Twelve-step programs are a great place to acknowledge success. Seeing your peers do well instills positive thinking and confidence that recovery is possible in your own life.
